Bringing over 20+ years of industry experience, Tyler serves as our Creative Director. He leads client asset reviews, state-of-the-art (SOTA) research, tool scripting, and pipeline planning. Tyler plays a key role in developing our SOTA pipelines and works closely with both the 3D and Machine Learning teams to build innovative, scalable, and efficient workflows.

First job

Tyler’s first ever job out of college was working on the movie Spiderman 3 in 2006. In case you can’t remember which of the myriad Spiderman movies that one was, I like to call it “the bad one.” Classic cringe dance scene….

Favorite Games, Art Style, and Hobbies

Tyler’s favorite games include The Longest Journey, Planet Zoo, Diablo franchise, Betrayal at Krondor, Baldurs Gate II, Magic the Gathering, LoL, Bomberman, and classic FPS/RTS/adventure games.

His favorite art styles involve raw energy, or surface level simplicity with underlying nuance and sophistication. Inspirations include Warwick Johnson Cadwell, Juliaon Roels, Kent Melton(RIP), Michael Defeo, Clyde Caldwell Johnson, Pablo Lobato, Timothy Lamb, Fabien Mense and so many more, and that only scratches the surface of current artists.

Outside of work, Tyler enjoys swimming, motocross/enduro, paddle-boarding, sculpting, figure drawing, ping pong, 3d printing, and games!

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned while working at Kaedim?

Having a transparent, incredibly hard working leader inspires everyone to follow suit. There is so much incredible new tech for organizing teams and keeping work efficient.

What’s something you wish people knew more about Kaedim?

I wish more people knew about our aspiration to empower artists to create more and create more efficiently, rather than replace artists, and that many of our goals involve optimizing the technical and tedious parts of 3d pipelines. I wish more people knew that we have a big wonderful team of artists and a cutting edge pipeline for assigning and pushing work through this pipeline.
