Meet Qi Ting, Software Engineer at Kaedim.
Born and raised in Singapore, Qi Ting is one of Kaedim’s Software Engineers, focusing on building artist tools for our global team. He works on developing our AI pipeline to improve both the 3D modeling process and our artists’ workflows. Qi Ting collaborates closely with the artist team, creating tests and gathering feedback to build comprehensive processes that the team can rely on.
As part of his Game Development club, Qi Ting and his team of 6 pitched their game to an incubation program, where they secured funding to continue development. The game is a rogue-like, top-down shooter, deeply inspired by titles like Dead Cells. Qi Ting worked on the UI, animations, VFX, and even the music score for the game! Qi Ting’s favorite games of all time are Sekiro, Skyrim (both modded and unmodded), and the Dishonored franchise. Ironically, his favorite art style doesn’t come from any of these games—it’s from the Borderlands series.
Outside of work, Qi Ting enjoys spending his time playing video games.
I’ve learned how to be resourceful when building a solution. When approaching a problem, you need to understand what resources you already have and how to branch out from what previously existed. It’s like a machine—you can’t build a standalone part; you need to build something that works seamlessly with all the other components.
How closely we work with our artist team and how deeply they’re involved in our creative process. The artists are constantly contributing to the pipelines we build, and it’s eye-opening to see how Kaedim approaches building AI solutions with the artistic community—not just for them.
